Saks Fifth Ave Christmas Light Show & Rockefeller Christmas Tree
Best Christmas Light Show in NYC
Today marks one of my favorite days out of the year - the lighting of Rockefeller Christmas Tree.
What makes this even more special is that my friend Nick is part of the incredible, dedicated team creating the magic and joy, and ushering in the light for the world in this especially dark year.
“The Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree has been part of the holiday celebration in Rockefeller Center since 1931. During the Great Depression, workers pooled their money for a small tree and decorated it with "strings of cranberries, garlands of paper, and even a few tin cans" on Christmas Eve, and the lighting has been broadcast live around the world since 1951. Since 2007, each year after the display, the tree is milled into lumber and donated to Habitat for Humanity for use in house construction.”

I put together a video of the Rockefeller Christmas Tree and Saks Fifth Ave Light show from footage I took from a previous year. I hope it brings you holiday cheer.
