Since Covid19, it’s been rough staying home. I don’t mind, since it’s the right thing to do - to keep healthy and take care of each other. But I’ve got to admit I miss spending time in some of my favorite places, like Washington Square Park in Greenwich Village, NYC.
Since I’ve been home, I’ve been going through some of my pictures and videos, and I came across this one from last year. (It’s little fuzzy, sorry, but what isn’t these days? )
I wanted to share it anyway because, well… the musician is playing The Beatles “Let It Be.” How synchronistic is it that these days?!
And this video also reminds me of why I love NYC: random acts of sharing music/art; people-watching; people compelled to sing along, walking their dog, eating their lunch on a park bench, etc… These are all seemingly mundane things - but they are also everything. We don’t know what life has in store for us, so it’s important to take life one day at a time and enjoy it as much as we can.
Washington Square Park has seen a lot in its day, and it is filled with magic. A beautiful little space, where people choose to dedicate themselves to slowing down in this crazy city to "just be" and to “let it be.” This is where creativity, love, and community flourishes.
What’s your favorite place to just be? Let me know.
With Love, Us
